Straddling the magnificent Great Rift Valley, Kenya is dominated by the Mount Kenya massif. A country of haunting natural landscapes, it offers a diversity of habitats: forested hills, traditional farmsteads, savannahs, golden beaches, and lava deserts - all brimming with abundant wildlife.

Kenya’s cultural diversity was influenced by its location at the crossroads of human migrations over millennia. Pastoral tribes such as the Maasai, Samburu and Turkana arrived from the Nile Valley, Bantu groups from central Africa settled in the East and Arabs and Indians set up on the coast, contributing to a heady mix of cultures and languages.

Kenya is where the modern safari concept originated, and where the safari experience was shaped to include some of the best wilderness, wildlife, and cultural experiences Africa - and perhaps the world - has to offer. It is a world leader in community conservation, where some of our favourite wilderness areas and safari experiences are being operated by traditional communities. As if this were not enough, it is blessed with a tropical coastline fringed with powdery beaches and coral gardens, providing excellent opportunities for post-safari relaxation.
