Known as the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda’s scenery and friendly people offer unique experiences in one of the most remarkable countries. Many still think of Rwanda and its past turbulent political history. Today, Rwanda is a modern success story with much to offer visitors - most notably the spellbinding experience of tracking mountain Gorillas on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. But Rwanda is not a one-trick pony, and offers much more to the intrepid traveller: tracking Chimpanzees in the enchanting Nyungwe forest, to climbing volcanic peaks. It is a fascinating and magical destination that combines landscapes and wildlife, culture and inland beaches on Lake Kivu

Rwanda can be visited at any time of the year for a Gorilla Tracking safari. However, the rainy months will make tracking more difficult with muddy conditions. Mid-May to mid-October, is the long dry season and offers the best conditions to track Gorillas.

WHY WE LIKE RWANDA

Many choose Rwanda only for the Gorillas and treat it as an add-on to a Tanzanian safari - which is possible given Rwanda's excellent infrastructure and air links. However, Rwanda is a fascinating country in its own right and a rising star on the African safari scene with allure beyond the Gorillas - beautiful forests, mountain ranges, lake country, and warm and welcoming people.
